100% cotton
does not mean 100% natural.

With “normal”, that is non-organic,
production, textile fibres such as cotton, linen
and hemp are often obtained from
genetically-modified seeds, from crops where
pesticides, chemical fertilizers and defoliants
are used, and processed using chemical
elements which are nearly always damaging
to our health.
Chromium, copper, cobalt, nickel, silver
mercury, formaldehyde may all be present in
a dress, as well as chemical dyestuffs for
dyeing, many of which are classified as
carcinogenic. This is also the case for fibres
of animal origin such as silk and wool.
These substances are harmful to the body.
The most recent studies, like that of
Stefania Seidenari, University lecturer on
allergological dermatology at the University of
Modena and Reggio Emilia, have shown that
many skin allergies are caused by the type of
fabrics which come into contact with the body.
